A Mother's Love

A mother's love does not say no
To one more thing to do
Though she is too sick
To get her child another glass of milk
She would do it lovingly
And even adds a cookie
Though very tired with no sleep
She would dig deep
To get herself up and hug and kiss
A child who woke up crying for her mommy she missed
Her child who at terrible two
Has unlimited surprising things to say and do
Throughout the day she laughs
At this child's every cute act and even mishaps
At the gift shop instead of buying something for herself
She ends up getting her little girl a toy from the shelf
This unselfish, untiring energy must come from above
For she is always ready to care for the child she loves
Whether she is tired or pissed
A mother's love is indeed the greatest there is.
